Two die after work accidents in Wexford and Roscommon
The Health and Safety Authority has launched two investigations following the death of two men in separate work accidents today.
A man in his 50s died following an accident on a farm in Cooladine, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.
The accident happened after the man fell into a storage unit containing barley and became trapped.
Efforts were made to release him but were unsuccessful.
The accident happened shortly before 9am this morning.
Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority are carrying out separate investigations.
Just over an hour later a man in his 60s died following an industrial accident in Roscommon.
The incident happened at a steel works plant in Ballaghdareen at around 10.15am when the man became trapped under a load of steel.
He was airlifted to University Hospital Galway, but has since died of his injuries.
The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
