Two motorcyclists die in Douglas County crash; Woman arrested on suspicion of DUI

FRANKTOWN, Colo. — Two motorcyclists were killed by an alleged drunk driver on Saturday afternoon, the Colorado State Patrol said.

The crash happened about 1:30 p.m. on Highway 83 and Russellville Road.

Athina Munoz, 27, of Parker, was booked into Douglas County Jail on charges of vehicular homicide (DUI), vehicular homicide (reckless driving), third-degree assault, DUI and failure to provide insurance.

The Colorado State Patrol said a 1997 green Honda Accord, driven by Munoz, was southbound on Highway 83 when it crossed into the northbound lanes and struck a 2014 maroon Harley Davidson.

The motorcyclist, 58-year-old Brian Lehner of Parker and passenger Jacquie Lehner, 56, were ejected and died at the scene.

Another motorcycle, driven by 28-year-old Joseph Bartoletti of Colorado Springs was also hit. Bartoletti suffered minor injuries.

None of the motorcyclists was wearing a helmet.
