DOUBLE FATAL ACCIDENT ON I-10 WESTBOUND NEAR OLD AND LOST RIVE

Two people are dead following a collision near the Old And Lost River Bridge on 1H-10 Monday afternoon.

The accident occurred after 4 p.m. at the 799 mile marker near the Old And Lost River Bridge, when an 18-wheeler, heavy duty wrecker truck caught two flat tires. The wrecker truck was towing a pump truck from Port Arthur to Houston.

The driver pulled onto the westbound shoulder of the road to change the flat tires.

“To change the flat, he had to set the (truck he was towing down on the road), so the road side assistance driver could jack the wrecker up to change tires, ” said Brad Hargrave, an employee with Swat Towing and Recovery – the company whose driver died in today’s accident.
